The Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM) functionality provides an email authentication method to help ensure that a message is not modified while it is in transit and the receiver will still know that the email is coming from you. DKIM is compatible with current email structures and works with SPF and DMARC to maintain multiple layers of security for domains sending emails.

You do not need GlassHive's SPF record as the CNAME record allows the SPF to be managed automatically.

Emails with DKIM set up appear more legitimate to its recipients and reduces the chance of your email going to Junk or Spam. Malicious spam and phishing campaigns use spoofing emails from trusted domains, setting up your DKIM makes it harder to spoof email from domains that use it.

In addition, setting up your DKIM helps build a reputation on your domain over time. The more emails you send using best email and delivery practices builds a good sending reputation with ISPs, which in turn helps with email deliverability.

Set up your DKIM in GlassHive

  • To begin, click on your Profile Icon then select "Account Settings"

  • Next select "Email Auth"

  • From the following screen you will be able to add your email domain into GlassHive.

  • Select "Add Domain"

  • Now there are two ways to authenticate your DKIM. You can either click "Easy Authenticate which uses Entri to automatically add the records to your DNS Provider or you can manually enter the records that are generated.

Easy Authentication (recommended)

  • Click "Easy Authentication", enter your domain in the format shown below and click "Go"

  • Click "Continue" then log in to your DNS provider by clicking on the link as shown. Entri will automatically direct you towards your DNS provider as it will be able to determine the host based on the domain that you provided

  • Once you log in, it should automatically enter the records into your DNS host. If it does not, you can copy paste the records as shown and enter them manually

  • Make sure to add the TXT record for DMARC as well. It is not required, but will increase the deliverability of your marketing emails, especially with larger Email Service Providers like Google and Yahoo.

  • If you do not have access to your DNS provider or need assistance from your email admin / tech team, you can click this link to forward them the instructions.

  • If you had to copy and past the instructions into your DNS host, click the blue button and you should be all set!

Manual Setup

  • Click on "Manual Setup"

  • Enter the domain you want authenticated as shown and click "Add Domain" in the upper right hand corner

  • Read and follow the instructions as laid out then click "Next Step"

  • Read and follow the instructions to copy-paste the CNAME and TXT records into your DNS Provider. Click validate and you should see all green check marks. If you do not, contact support and they can help troubleshoot

  • And that should be it! Your records should be added and your domain validated!
